Dr Andrew Lin
Dr Andrew Lin is a cardiologist and cardiac imaging specialist interested in all aspects of cardiology including coronary heart disease, valvular heart disease, heart failure, and primary prevention. He is a Consultant Cardiologist and the Academic Lead of Non-Invasive Imaging at the Victorian Heart Hospital.
Andrew graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2008. He undertook physician training at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, followed by cardiology training at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital. He has completed three years of fellowship training in advanced cardiac imaging, including echocardiography at MonashHeart and cardiac CT and cardiac MRI at the world-leading Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, USA, and Barts Heart Centre, London, UK.
Andrew has a strong interest in cardiovascular research. His PhD applied highly innovative analysis tools to cardiac CT to better understand the role of inflammation in coronary heart disease. He then spent two years in the Biomedical Imaging Research Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center working on state-of-the-art artificial intelligence solutions to improve cardiovascular risk prediction from cardiac CT. Andrew has published widely in high impact journals, authored multiple book chapters, and been awarded numerous local and international prizes for his research. He is a National Heart Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow and Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University, and mentors PhD students, researchers, and junior doctors.
