Palpitations and Arrhythmia Clinic

Palpitations are the sensation of the heart racing, skipping beats, thumbing or fluttering. Palpitations are very common and most people will experience them at some time of their life. Palpitations may be associated with the sensation of lightheadedness, dizziness, shortness of breath or collapse.

While in most cases palpitations are benign they may indicate a heart rhythm which requires further treatment. In order to determine whether your palpitations require further investigation we run a sub-speciality palpitations and arrhythmia clinic. Our team will assess your history and examination and then arrange appropriate tests. An individualised management plan will be formulated which may include careful observation, medication or electrical ablation procedures.
