Dr Francis Ha

Francis is a cardiologist with a sub-speciality interest in heart rhythm disorders but manages all aspects of adult cardiology.

He completed secondary school with an ATAR score of 99.90 (top 0.1% in the state). He completed his undergraduate medical degree at Monash University. During this time, he undertook a Bachelor of Medical Science research year and was awarded the prize for most impactful research publications for his year.

He completed his internship and physician training at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. He undertook his cardiology advanced training at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, Austin Hospital and Ballarat Hospital. He is undertaking a sub-speciality fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology and pacing at the Victorian Heart Hospital. Concurrently, he is undertaking a PhD examining novel treatments for atrial fibrillation and their mechanisms through Monash University.

During his training as of 2025, he has published more than 50 papers (>90% as first, second or senior author) including within sub-speciality journals of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation and Heart Rhythm. His research is supported by the National Health and Medical Research Council and National Heart Foundation. He is on the editorial board for Reviews in Cardiovascular Medicine Journal.
