Dr Elana Kalman
Dr. Elana Kalman is an accomplished cardiologist with a passion for expert patient care who is interested in all aspects of cardiology, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, and cardiac risk assessment. Her specialised interest lies in acute coronary syndrome, coronary interventions, and the prevention of cardiovascular disease.
Elana has grown up in the South-East of Melbourne and has a strong passion for improving the health of the community. Elana graduated with Honours from Monash University in 2016 and was awarded the Alfred Hospital Residents and Graduates Association Prize for excellence. She completed her Basic Physician Training at Monash Health, and her Cardiology Advanced Training at Monash Health, Frankston Hospital and Alfred Hospital. She is currently undertaking a two-year, high-volume fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the Victorian Heart Hospital. She also has a keen interest in non-invasive coronary imaging and plans to undertake further training in cardiac CT.
Dr. Kalman is a dedicated educator and mentor with a particular interest in the health and wellbeing of junior staff and served as chief registrar for specialty medicine during her specialty training. She continues to actively engage in the mentorship and training of junior doctors.
When she is not working, Dr. Kalman enjoys travelling, reading, hiking and spending quality time with her young family.
