DC Cardioversion

A cardioversion is a non-invasive medical procedure where the heart rhythm is restored to normal following delivery of a controlled electric shock to the chest wall. The procedure is performed with one of our highly experienced anaesthetic colleagues, who provides their expertise to ensure that the procedure is pain free. Cardioversion procedures are performed within a hospital and usually as a day case procedure. Cardioversions can be performed at both public and private hospitals based on patient preference.
